shannon - 13/05/2010 04:31
Hi Sophie, I hope that all is well and that you are in good health. I, like legions of your fans am mesmerized by your voice, it is rather hypnotic. I must confess that I wrote to the organizers of Lilith Fair (I think. lol) and asked them to invite you on the tour with them in The States. I know one little email is a one in a million shot but if your other fans supported you maybe I can see you in Michigan as well. Take care and keep doing what makes you the most happiest, singing I assume :) shannon ;)

Angie Durbin - 09/05/2010 07:06
Hi Sophie, just had to let you know how MUCH I love your singing! Your voice is very haunting (in a good way), rich with emotion and just plain gorgeous. I have been painting abstracts to you for a few years now, can I send you one?

I wish you had performances in the U.S. America is missing one of the most unique and beautiful voices (like an angel!). Contined success, God bless.

Paul - 18/01/2010 06:32
Hi Sophie: Just got through listening to you in a live performance of In the Waiting Line, and you've a delicious voice. Judging by the fact that you co-wrote Destiny and In the Waitning Line you've an enormous amount of talent. Look forward to hearing more. Best Wishes, Paul

Robert Rivell - 16/01/2010 01:59
Sophie, I wanted say to how much I appreciated your work and performances with Zero 7 over the years. Great music...soothing and to the soul. Enjoyed the 2001 live performance of 'DESTINY" when you shared the stage with Sia. The contrast in your voice and Sia's in that song was brillant. Another favorite is the live performance of "IN THE WAITING LINE." I am looking forward to seeing more of your outstanding contributions with ZERO 7 on future projects.

Christian - 07/01/2010 16:19

Never heard your work before watching a re-run of House that featured "in the waiting line" to close the episode. I was so captivated by your voice and lyrics that I had to hunt down the source. I'm eagerly awaiting the next gift that your imagination and voice will afford.

Cindy from Minnesota, USA - 18/09/2009 07:29
I just had to find out who sang the song 'In the Waiting Line' featured on a Sex and the City episode rerun as it was so mesmerizing, and here you are. Your voice has a transcending, healing, peaceful quality that touches my soul! Be assured, I will be acquiring your Lullaby cd for the times my young grandchildren visit the cabin and ALL the rest of your albums for ME! Thank you as I've just found the perfect background music for my creative ventures and whenever a time of tranquility is needed. Your voice is truly amazing and God sent! Blessings to you!!

Spencer - 04/09/2009 21:22
Hi Sophie, used to live like you in London and got well into the down tempo stuff. You probably don't remember the Arts Cafe in Commercial Street E1. But I first heard you there on a CD and I can say without a doubt......you voice is bliss. Student life was well hectic and my subject was loads of theory and equations. Frustrating days ended with your music at night. I could never have survived.....well the pasta every other night was also to blame but that's another story. Still number one for me.

haze from Tom + Liz Wedding - 02/09/2009 20:33

I first heard your music in a little bar in Dublin and loved it. It took sometime for Simple Things to get to the States, but I was secretly listening to my import CD and all of the great songs and sharing it with my good friends. I think what I really wanted was a Sophie Barker album for that lovely voice. I love listening, so best wishes with recording more.

Ian Johnson - 26/06/2008 14:43
Ms.Barker, you have the most delightful and intoxicating singing voice. I adore it. I am one very happy Scouser. Thank you, IJ x

ROCK ON - 18/06/2008 20:50
Greetings Sophie.... Having had Groove Armada's "Vertigo" for almost 9 years and listening to it incessantly, I have only now begun to appreciate the depth and compliment of your voice to a deep groove that unfortunately has only hit me deeper after having invested in quality speakers. This is sad I know, but when a tune hits you....it just hits you....and "Your Song" is definitely "My Song" now and know that I will crank it to an orgasmic EQ and can only hope for more collaborations with the passion you evoke into that tune! Keep Crooning Baby!!

Peter - 28/05/2008 02:27

Hej Soph! It hailed on me walking home from the station. Culture Shock, one minute I'm basking in the Indian Ocean, drinking Tusker then somehow I'm in Camborne with a 70kg backpack, hail stones in my eyes and no Taxi!! Actually really good to be home though, great to see you again, just googled you, found this and your songs made me cry with the beauty of it all so I thought I'd say hi. Great and important work you did with those kids, safe travel, love to Sveva xxpete

JMe - 03/03/2008 15:52
What can I say... First heard your voice ten years ago with Sirenes' singles "Sun Don't Shine" and "Deep End"... Massive tunes, never got why they didn't turn successful... Then we met again on Tipper's releases, where your voice perfectly completed his metallic sound experiences... And now, "Lullaby" reached my CD collection and my ears... Glad you're in the place for my soon-to-be daughter birth :) Many thanks for your work. Best regards.

Rocky - 01/03/2008 19:22

Sophia - I've listened to some of your other recordings. There is something very heartfelt (part of you) that you convey to us. I know that's your intent - it goes right through to me. I really don't expect you to come out to California, but I would love to see you live (in the San Francisco Bay Area). I think you might be surprised at how many fans there are, especially those who have been fortunate to have heard you sing live (Seattle, Los Angeles?)....

Keep up your beautiful work. Paul from Fareham

Hi Sophie, Just a short note to say a big thank you for your superb performance at Bush Hall last night. My fiancé and I will be having 'Destiny' as our first song when we get hitched in March so it was really great for us to see you both (yourself and Sia I mean). I hadn't been to Bush Hall since the 'Lullaby' launch and it was great to be back. Thanks again, Eric

Sophie, I had not heard of Zero 7 until three days ago. I found the "live" version of you singing "In the Waiting Line" on You Tube. I don't know what it is, but I have watched your video over a dozen times since, and have forwarded it to practically everyone on my email list. Your vocals and music are a rare refreshment. Good luck to you always. You are wonderful! Tom in Texas

Jonathan - 18/08/2007 04:58

Argentina is such an isoleted place as far as music is concerned. I remember the first time i saw 'Destiny' video on MTV2 ... i kept on humming the song all day. The images of the video: those colours and soft movements... they dazzled me. Needless to say how your voice as well as Sia's took me instantly to the seventh sky... and it lingered until today. Haven't met anyone who listens to your music except for me. But I really don't care. YOUR SONGS DO WONDERS!

Al - 03/08/2007 08:54
Knew your voice thru zero 7, so bought lullaby for my 5mth old daughter, Alice. Its sublime. Look forward to the rest of the collection.Peace always.

Bonjour Sophie, I'm from Montreal Canada and I thinm your voice is enchanting and always on my mind while working. I have discovered you from Destiny and In the waiting line with Zero 7 back when MTV did a commecial with Destiny as the theme song. And then about three months ago, after discovering Bitter:Sweet with Quango, I found out about Bliss which you colaborated also. So far I have found no music so profound to my heart with mystirious and spiritual sounds. I simply love to see someone like yourself doing what you know best and that is to use your beautiful mind and voice to create wonderful music. Thank you for making my days happier. And thanks to Zero 7 and Bliss. Continue the great work.

Francine - 08/02/2007 05:17
Dear Sophie: I was watching, House, on Fox television in the USA. Your song, In the Waiting Line, was played during the final moments of the show. The poignance of the music matched the mood of the shows finality beautifully. I entered the lyric, "Do you believe in what you see..............................,", in Google, and other search engines until I got your name, Zero 7, and the title of your song. I was at the music store at opening and was so excitied that they had the CD I nearly flew out of the store. You are wonderful, amazing, and I look forward to hearing your own CD ASAP. I thank, House, for helping me discover you. Cheers, Francine

Hank - 07/02/2007 01:02

Hi Sophie. I'm from India. Sorry I haven't been able to get my hands on any of your solo work, but I absolutely love what you did with Zero 7. I recently interviewed Henry for my paper and even asked him why you were missing from The Garden. I'm writing this listening to In Time, my most favourite song. Wish you all the best in everything you do.

Hi Sophie. I wanted to know if you were going to play in toulouse with zero7 (just before J.Blunt). It would be great to finally see you after four years of listening to your great songs.

Steve Surreal - 29/05/2006 00:34
Love your vocals Sophie! So soothing and relaxing. Keep up the amazing work!

Nadya - 21/05/2006 22:34
I'm writing from Sicily...I'll write the best that I can...I'm 21 years old and I'm a songwriter. I found your soul in Breathe and my soul too...I know there's only your voice in that song but it's not your natural chord that stole my heart...the wat you take your breath from your inside...I've never heard something special like you. Is it so difficult singing for a great public? I feel so. In Italy discography is only for money so what people like is not the real music, they don't consider lyrics or instrumentals...but only wonderful bodies...and discography is for men...only girls spend money for handsome singers and boybands...the same for tv realities...Can you tell me how to make a producer listen to my music, there in America? What is the right way...singing in famous pubs in Nashville?Do you know where your music is known? I hope you will read this message with your true eyes! Write me please my Sophie!

jatin - 19/05/2006 21:31

There is so little choice out there. Thanks again. Lookinf forward to hearing more of you. Jenny & Martha Cowan, London

Colin - 13/03/2006 11:42
Sophie, You were so nice touring w/Zero 7 last year -- I will always appreciate you taking the time to stay late after the San Diego show and sign albums, etc. Of course, in the future, I hope for you the kind of stardom that would necessitate a platoon of securitymen, fending off adoring, Beatle-style fans... :) But until that day comes, thank you for going a little bit further than most pop stars, and making one of my favorite concert-going experiences even more special. Hope to see something on the upcoming gigs page soon, and continued success!

Tobie Kaufold - 11/03/2006 16:33
Sophie, Your voice and talent is like a chinese blossom that blooms every 100 years. In world of a zillion entertainers but few artists(vocalists) who really have talent and can connect with there audience in a true and inspiring way. Your staying power will always be but for some reason I bet that isn't your mission which makes your talent and voice all the more captivating. My little daughter who is 5 asks mama play that song one more time.. and in the moment we share a connection ..it is sweet, real, tender and honest and that is reflective of you as an artist. Thank you.

Duncan lloyd - 07/03/2006 14:45
hey there sophie, i am duncan and i am peter lloyd's brother (b/f of sia) I was just telling Sia tonight how much i like 'in the waiting line' and she said i should let you know so here i am. i can't say that my soul shook like kenn but i did enjoy it on a purely satisfying sound level. Well hope you still enjoy the song as much as i do. Cheerio

James King - 05/03/2006 17:35
Hey Sophie, I just want to thank you for giving me such inspiration in the music that you make. Have you thought of teaming up with Morcheeba? I think that you would collaborate brilliantly. You have such a beautiful voice and 'In The Waiting Line' wouldn't have been the same without it. I'm still perservering in getting all my friends and everyone I know to buy your album and 'Simple Things' especially. Have you ever thought of performing at the Oxford Zodiac, if so please email me! Thanks with love and above all gratitude, James K

kenn nicastro - 01/03/2006 05:39
Hey Sophie. I recently had the pleasure of hearing you on ''In the Waiting Line''. Truely an amazing voice and singing style you have. The lyrics, along with your soul-shaking rendition of the song, actually evoked a response inside of me, the likes of which I have never felt before. It's extremely rare that a 'song' can move me the way you did with this one. Awesome Sophie.

snowwright33ad - 21/01/2006 05:51
Hello Sophie, I was wondering why the credits in the movie Crush say that someone named Sally Herbert sang the song Angel? Which name is your real name? I had to watch it several times before I realized that the main reason was to hear your song Angel drew me in, and which made me cry of course...You have a very beautiful voice, and it reminds me a little bit of a much more soulful version Sarah Maglaughlin whose voice is beautiful too, but after I heard your voice I liked yours much better. blessing on you and yours....snowwright33ad@yahoo.com

I've been listening to Zero 7 for a long time. I really love Henry and Sam's music (when are they going to release their next album! Are you on it? I hope you are). Anyways I found myself being drawn to the tracks you are on as my favorites. While on their web site I discovered your site and that you had a new solo album out. I of course bought it from iTunes. In my humble opinion, you have the sweetest voice of any female singer I've ever heard. Hands down. Your lyrics great too.

je suis DASHIT! - 22/12/2005 03:05
Not to trash someone else's art, but Dido wishes she was half the calming genius you are. The introspective lyrics, the peace seeking melodies, the innovative vocal arrangements. Simply wow. All the best.

Patrick B - 12/12/2005 16:18
Hi Sophie, usually I wouldn't make the effort to leave a message in a type of forum like this but your voice had such an affect on me I feel compelled to express my gratitude to you. Your voice on In The Waiting Line made me feel like I was floating in the air. Your voice has the power to melt the veil between this and the angelic realm. Long may it continue, Peace & Love, Patrick.

Tony B - 12/12/2005 02:44

Thank you for the music - your voice is just gorgeous, and I thoroughly enjoy your songwriting. I'm happy to see you have a solo album and that it's available on iTunes! I first heard your work with Zero7, but I like your solo work even more. I was listening to a few songs on iTunes and heard the unmistakable thumbprint of Robin Gutherie - how happy I am to hear two favorite musicians playing together! Looking forward to seeing you live. I hope you'll consider playing in NYC sometime soon - I will be happy to spread the word. If not, I'll try to catch a show in the U.K. at some future date. Thanks again. DLG

I recently bought Sirius satillite radio and my favorite station is CHILL. I love the style of music with groups I've never heard before. Zero 7, Yonderboi, Jens Buchert. Then this song comes on that just grabs a hold of me. It's you singing 'KiSSing' with BLISS. Thank you for the out of body experience and now I have a crush on you.

nicola56 - 07/11/2005 15:00

Monica Vaccaro - 05/11/2005 18:48
I downloaded Secet and Wintertime through I-tunes and love both songs. I haven't been able to find the lyrics anywere. DO you know if they are available for those of us who purchase your music electronically?

Cory Roberts - 24/10/2005 06:13
Sophie, You have truly blessed my life with your lyrics and angelic voice. May Gods richest blessings fall upon you. Do you have any suggestions for UK soul music such as Spinning, Destiny, Zero 7, etc. Please keep producing such lyrics that come from personal experiences of life with God so those who do not understand love may be drawn to His love by there relating to your experiences. Your voice flows like one drop from a dripping sink, with all of the character of life yet reality of death while dreaming in a surreal exsistance. Thank you for following your dream! ccroberts2004@yahoo.com

Simon - 13/10/2005 23:32
I was in a 'Zero 7' mood tonight and that led me here, so I thought I would post. I'd never heard of Zero 7 til I heard 'Waiting Line on the end credits of 'SITC'. It blew my mind. I pasted some of the lyrics into Google, found out what the track was and bought the CD next day. I love the album, but that track still blows me away each time I hear it. Just chilling with 'Imagination' right now. Massively into you!

One of my favorite songs is Destiny, a song which creates an ethereal atmosphere in any room in which it is played. Sophie is an fantastic songwriter and deserves every success. The sound of Sophie and Sia harmonising is heaven. I cant wait to see Sophie live some day.

Kris - 26/09/2005 21:26
I just wanted you to know that I am proof positive that great artists, like you, will be heard by wider audiences because of the reach of the internet and digital music. I am a 38 year old woman who 'accidentally' stumbled on zero 7 and had the pleasure of hearing your voice on some of their mixes. I would not have considered myself interested in electronic music -- until I got exposed to Zero 7 and then sought out other artists in the electronic genre. Not only did I purchase several of their songs and others, I purchased earthbound and your work w/Quiet Letters. Keep making great music.

I live in Miami, Florida and I just discovered you. I've been listening to you all day. I haven't had this kind of movement of energy generated within me since I saw the first matrix and miami vice. I hope you come to florida soon because you are one cool chick.

Just wanted to congratulate you on a great gig last night in Camden at the Barfly. I was right up at the front, directly in front of your mic stand. Thought your guitarist mate (gosh, I have forgotten his name) was really good too: what was that device he was using to play his accoustic guitar?! Great setlist, but what was the third track, since it obviously wasn't one of the Earthbound tracks? RC

julie - 01/06/2005 22:18
Hello sophie, its julie from paris!!!! your ex-roomate! I hope you are ok, and everything is beautiful in your life! Hope to see you again! Julie!!

jmcmanila - 01/06/2005 14:00
what can i say? im beyond words really. this album is a collaboration in what dreams are made of. sophie and her angelic , sultry , seductive, intelligent and sometimes haunting voice against the backdrop of ethereal dreamlike atmospherics of robin guthrie from my favorite understated band the cocteau twins. other songs like dreamlife also never falters in which it grips the listeners in a warm embrace of sonar lushness. i compare it to golden gilded glass house. as sophies voice turns anything it touches turns to gold. and robin provides the glass house where sunbeam streams to light up the roses underneath. ..huh..you might say...well im still in a state of wonderment and day dreaming after listening to this undoubtedly the one of the best understated albums of this year. .after listening im still in a cloud..hope i dont come down...see you in brighton

I really enjoy listening to your voice... I can't wait to have your upcoming cd (I hope they'll release in Indonesia)

zero seven socrates - 12/03/2005 20:37
Sophie I am amzingly inpressed by you-your voice and songs arew divine. There is something else which shines thru-you are surrounded by the beauty of Dina and Sia and together the three of you have performed stunningly. In another screenplay you might have resigned as these super singers might have intimidated you. Quite the contrary. In comparing such groups as Air to British air as the pejorative of zero seven, it is the incredible prowess of the all four singers that establishes the pattern and rythm of the vocals. Also your humilty is admiral....CANT wait for your solo album. tins of love and good wishes

Neil M Dallas, Texas - 11/03/2005 07:13
Sophie, what can I say, from the first time I heard your voice I was mesmerized. I've never heard someone display their soul through song the way you do. From deep in the heart of Texas we can't wait till you release that upcoming album.

I'm in love with the song In The Waiting Line :-) It's been a long time since I have heard such a sweet, relaxing voice. This one's a masterpiece! Gotta check out some more I guess :-) Keep on movin'! Mike, Poland

Jen Jarvis - 17/01/2005 00:55
Just to say your voice is absolutely gorgeous. I saw you girlies down at Brighton Centre and the Dome in Brighton recently and the three of you blend so well together-very inspiring stuff. I sing and I'd love to be able to have a group of females to sing with like you guys do. Well done and keep that voice flowing!

Mike - 14/01/2005 03:34
Hi Sophie, My 17 year old daughter downloaded your songs from I-Tunes and I must admit I've been listening to your excellent work pretty much everyday for about a month now! I guess I'm a newbie! All I can say is I love your songs and vocals. Thank you 'cause they make me feel better!

Christina - 12/01/2005 23:04

Hi Sophie I just thought I'd say what a great gig at Bush Hall. I've got 4 CD's to give out as christmas presents to my God-daughter and my Niece. I hope you raised a load of money for GOSH a very worthy cause. Good luck Eric

Katrina - 10/12/2004 03:04
i would just like to say that you have such a beautiful voice..i have seen zero 7 play twice..once in twickenham outside and the other hammersmith.. just want to congradulate you for everything you have managed to achieve so far...you have made really beautiful music and i hope you never stop doing so. goodluck for the future. much love. x

katie bradley - 09/12/2004 01:12
I can't believe it

Lawrence - 06/12/2004 01:13
Wonderful voice - and Robin Guthrie too - I can hardly wait. Z7 were an unexpectedly blissful experience at homelands - I still remember it and how it was so enchanting I didn't even hear the drum'n'bass from the next tent. One plea - pleeez, pleez, don't let the record company company protect/break the CD - that's why I don't have When It Falls

McPopov - 04/12/2004 17:13
I'd like to congragulate Mrs Barker for sharing her amazing talent with her audience! An awsesome voice, simple orchestra but so much feelings and sensations within the lyrics. Nothing to reproach!! So my only wish is that you could keep on composing and singing such beautiful songs and for sure delighting us with your necessary presence within Zero7! thanks again for publishing your world!;)

Eltono... - 03/12/2004 23:08

Dave Higginson - 25/11/2004 00:02
Hi Sophie. I was at the Zero 7 gig in Wolverhampton and I have to tell you that you were superb. I have had Simple Things and When it Falls for a while now and I can honestly say that Passing By is amongst my favourite songs. Your voice is so soft and smooth. you have another fan and I will be looking for your solo stuff from now! Wow!!

RC - 23/11/2004 21:39
How cool is Secret? I am well-known to the likes of SuperJohnny, Hurf, Flappy, Alasdhair, et al (as I am also one of Sia's fabled web-dorks. Sorry I won't be at Hammersmith this week, but I am going to see Bent tomorrow night in Islington, and I have seen Z7 twice this year, the highlight of which was Marble Hill in August when Sia dedicated Destiny to me... Of course, if you can get me on the gues... Just kidding. Looking forward to hearing Earthbound, but in the meantime, would you mind if we all buy Lullaby? RC

Tommy K - 23/11/2004 16:13
Loved the performance last night - Rock'n'Roll ! Can't wait to catch you on tour again. Peace, Love and Bananas. Cambridge Massive P.S. Thanks for putting us on the guest list. xxx

Alasdhair - 22/11/2004 11:12
Hi Sophie, great website, looking forward to hearing your new work, especially after seeing you live with Sia three times this year. (I'm another of Sia's web geeks, but also a real person these days...!) Enjoy the rest of the tour, and your showcase on the 13th, and best of luck with the release. Stay cool, Al

SuperJohnny - 21/11/2004 21:35
First Sia, then Tina and now you Sophie, it's great to have websites for all of you online. I'll admit your work with Zero 7 brought my attention to you, but i've managed through the internet to hear some of your own work, and it's amazing. I look forward to hearing more and more of it.

Flappy - 21/11/2004 21:05
Hi Sophie, Sia has given us the words so hopefully we'll see you at Bush Hall on the 13th. I hope you're enjoying the tour. Myself and a few of the usual suspects will be at Hammersmith on Thursday. Good luck Flappy Eric

Saskia - 17/11/2004 23:43

Flappy - 17/11/2004 22:35
Hi Sophie. I hope you're having a good night off tonight. Hope to see yourself, Sia and Tina on the 25th but we shall see. Sorry I seemed a bit odd at Scala but I wasn't expecting to run into the two of you so quickly! (Sarah still has her teeth! Hope the beer didn't taste odd!) Good luck for the rest of the tour and I'm looking forward to hearing the album. See ya, Flappy Eric

Hurf - 17/11/2004 19:26
Hey Sophie, Just heard your mp3's I'm loving secret, you can't beat a sweet female voice over an acoustic track with caustic, strong vocals. I felt the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Really looking forward to the album. Saw you at the Scala at the Sia gig, diggging your moves! I was standing with all the other webboarder geeks from Sia's website.(Yes. I'm one of those!) Love, Hurf

Lunarsol - 16/11/2004 04:55
Hello from Orlando FL. I remember first hearing the Zero 7 album Simple Things on a launchcast station In the Waiting Line. I liked it so much that I brought the album and hoped for the best. The album was delectable straight through and my favorite song happens to be Spinning. The elegance of your voice carries the music so well so sultry. I heard the song Breathe by Bliss two days ago and thought about the cunning familiarity of the voice ..so smooth and fell in love with the song immediately...only to find out it was you!! thank you so much for your lyrical talent. I hope you come over to the US sometime. I cant wait for your album Monique

Louki - 14/11/2004 02:42
Love your gorgeous velvet voice and sublime vocals! I hope you come to Boston sometime. I first heard you with Zero 7 in the soundtrack of Garden State singing In the Waiting Line and just had to check it out.

grafty - 11/11/2004 01:51
Hey Sophie...Cool pics of you and Tina. Saw Zero 7 in Chicago this past May. Had the time of my life. Can you rally the boys and girls for another swing through the states soon? I'll be looking forward to it. Cheers.

Seth - 08/11/2004 21:59

Hi From mexico, It's a pleause to know from a great band such as zero 7, even that's really hard to find in here.
